You have just moved from home, about to embark on your own sense of independence in a new city. To prepare yourself for your first day at work tomorrow, you want to explore your new surroundings. Equipped with your own bias, you will encounter an Hispanic Woman at a Bar, a Black Woman at the park, and an Asian Woman on the train. How will you choose to interact? Will you be ignorant and defend your microaggressions against other’s cultural identities, or will you try to learn from your faults and embrace a new world of change? In My Shoes is an interactive narrative created by Team Spacefrogs to create a learning experience on how to communicate with others that are different than you. We all have preconceived biases. We all might slip up and use a microaggression through conversation with someone of another race, gender identity or ethnicity. We are human, but we should be able to learn from our mistakes.
